I love watching YouTube stars share their favorites every month, but some of those videos and lists are just sooo long. Since I’m doing the whole beauty blogger thing now, I decided I’d share my favorites too – but I’ll be keeping these lists to just my top five, not every item that made its way onto my face last month. So here it is, my Top Five February Favorites:
Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay matte palette ($44) – I picked up this gorgeous all-matte palette recently and I just can’t get enough right now. The colors are buttery and pigmented, they blend beautifully, and they all pair well together lending to cool neutral looks with a touch of drama from deep purple Bombshell and pure black Fashionista. I’ve reached for this practically every day and even The Boyfriend loves the purple smokey eyes I’ve been rocking lately.
Urban Decay All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray ($14) – Okay so this isn’t exactly a new product, but I’ve been using this a ton lately. There are so many steps that go into a full face of makeup and, especially since I use mostly powder products, I’m always a little worried they’ll just rub off throughout the day. A few sprays of this stuff and my makeup stays put for everything from a long day out to partying late into the night.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask ($22) – I got a little sample packet of this stuff for a few bucks during a sale at The Body Shop, I absolutely did not expect to like it so much. My skin has been super dry this winter and this mask was a savior. I managed to get three solid applications out of the foil pouch – apply all over your [clean] face, wait 10 minutes, and gently wipe off with a tissue. I love to do this right before bed for some seriously smooth and hydrated skin come morning. I will definitely be buying a full size of this.
Lush Let the Good Times Roll ($12.95) – This mildly exfoliating cleanser smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling so soft. It’s perfect for gently buffing away flakes and dry skin before using a thick moisturizing cream. Note: The Boyfriend thinks this stuff smells like cereal (and it does, it’s made with maize flour!) but it’s not a good olfactory combination with my go-to moisturizer so choose your products carefully if there’s someone you’re trying to get cozy with.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Oyster ($5) – This iridescent pink shadow stick is so lovely and makes a great base to brighten up eyeshadows without the stark white intensity of the NYX Milk pencil. I love to smudge this on the inner third of my eyelid to add a little boost for my lighter shadows, especially when paired with a darker smoky eye.
